Public Safety & Emergency Coordination

The Department of Public Safety serves as the Village's liaison for emergency management and coordinates with county and regional agencies during incidents that exceed routine police response.

Emergency management authority rests with Proctor County. The Department of Public Safety acts as the Village-level liaison, ensuring local coordination and communication during activated events.

Emergency Services

The Village of Hobart does not operate its own fire or EMS services directly. Emergency response is provided through the following agencies:

Safety Advisories

The Department issues safety advisories through PAL-TV during escalated conditions and through the Village Facebook page for general awareness. Advisories may address weather events, road conditions, traffic disruptions, or other circumstances affecting public safety.

The Department does not issue advisories on behalf of external agencies. Residents should consult appropriate county and state sources for weather warnings, flood stages, and public health guidance.

Traffic Control

The Department of Public Safety coordinates traffic control operations during events, road closures, and emergency situations. Temporary traffic restrictions are posted in advance when possible and communicated through PAL-TV and the Village Facebook page.

Routine traffic concerns within Village limits may be directed to the Department during business hours.
